Airtel Money Uganda has partnered with electric mobility company SPIRO to introduce electric motorcycles across its franchise network, supporting cleaner and more efficient last-mile distribution.

The initiative gives Airtel Franchise Partners access to an interest-free repayment programme, making it easier to acquire electric motorcycles while reducing the cost of daily operations.

Driving cleaner last-mile delivery

Under the partnership, franchise partners will be able to replace conventional motorcycles with electric alternatives, helping them lower fuel and maintenance costs while improving productivity and customer service.

Airtel Money Uganda says the move is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its distribution network while supporting environmentally sustainable business practices.

Supporting Uganda's e-mobility transition

According to Airtel Money Uganda, its franchise partners play a critical role in delivering products and services across the country, making efficient transportation essential to business growth.

SPIRO, one of Africa's leading electric mobility companies, said the collaboration also supports Uganda's transition towards cleaner transport by accelerating the adoption of electric vehicles.

Expanding sustainable mobility in Africa

The partnership reflects a growing trend among African businesses to adopt electric mobility solutions as they seek to reduce operating costs and lower carbon emissions.

By combining affordable financing with electric vehicle technology, Airtel Money Uganda and SPIRO aim to modernise last-mile distribution while making sustainable transportation more accessible to local businesses.
