SpaceXAI Unveils Grok 4.5 with Faster Performance and Lower AI Costs
SpaceXAI has launched Grok 4.5, its latest artificial intelligence model, positioning it as a faster and more cost-efficient alternative for coding, research, writing and enterprise productivity.
The release is the company's first major AI model since going public and comes as competition among leading AI developers continues to intensify.
Designed for High-Performance AI Tasks
According to SpaceXAI, Grok 4.5 is built to handle a wide range of knowledge-intensive tasks, including software development, application building, research, writing and office productivity.
The company claims the model delivers twice the token efficiency of competing AI systems, potentially reducing computing costs for businesses and developers.
Elon Musk Compares Grok to Anthropic's Opus
SpaceXAI founder Elon Musk described Grok 4.5 as an "Opus-class model", comparing its capabilities to Anthropic's flagship Opus model while claiming it offers faster performance at a lower cost.
The company said Grok 4.5 is priced at US$2 per million input tokens and US$6 per million output tokens, making it significantly cheaper than Anthropic's Opus, which costs US$5 and US$25 respectively.
Competition Intensifies in the AI Race
SpaceXAI also released benchmark results indicating that Grok 4.5 performs competitively against leading AI models from rival companies, although it stopped short of claiming industry-leading performance.
The launch comes during a busy week for the AI industry, with OpenAI expected to unveil its latest flagship model, GPT-5.6, as competition over performance, speed and cost continues to accelerate.
With Grok 4.5, SpaceXAI is betting that improved efficiency and lower operating costs will strengthen its position in the rapidly evolving generative AI market.
