Meta is rolling out Meta AI in Threads DMs, giving users a private space to interact with its AI assistant without leaving the social media platform.

Unlike the existing public Meta AI interactions being tested in some markets, the new feature allows users to send posts, images, links and videos directly to Meta AI, ask questions and continue conversations through follow-up prompts.



The rollout is beginning globally as Meta continues integrating its AI assistant across Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. The move also strengthens Threads' push to become more than a social platform, with Meta looking to keep users within its ecosystem for information, recommendations and AI-powered assistance.
