WhatsApp is bringing audio and video calls to its web app, allowing users to make and receive calls without switching to the mobile or desktop application.

The new Calls tab will include call history and favourites, while users will also have access to features such as screen sharing and reactions.

WhatsApp is also adding call transfers, allowing users to move an ongoing call between their phone, desktop and web without hanging up.



For group calls, a new waiting room feature will let hosts approve or remove participants before they join. The platform is also introducing background noise suppression and faster HD video streaming to improve call quality.

The updates strengthen WhatsApp's push to make its web experience more useful for everyday communication and work calls.
