Kenyan education technology startup Craydel has expanded into Ghana, extending its presence to eight African countries as it continues building a pan-African platform that helps students access higher education opportunities abroad.

The move strengthens Craydel's footprint in one of West Africa's largest outbound student markets, where growing numbers of students are seeking international university placements. With Ghana joining its network, the company now operates in Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Tanzania, and Ghana.

Expanding Access to Global Education

Founded in 2021, Craydel uses artificial intelligence to simplify the university application process by helping students search, compare, and apply to institutions around the world. The platform currently partners with more than 600 universities across over 50 study destinations, offering personalised recommendations and streamlined application support.

The Ghana expansion will include local student advisory services and partnerships with schools, allowing prospective students to receive guidance throughout the application process while giving universities greater access to qualified African applicants.

According to Craydel Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer Manish Sardana, Ghana represents an important market due to its strong culture of investing in education and increasing demand for trusted, technology-driven study abroad services.

Building a Continental Education Platform

Craydel's latest expansion reflects its ambition to build one of Africa's largest cross-border student recruitment platforms rather than operating as separate national businesses.

The company earns revenue by connecting universities with prospective students, receiving commissions for successful placements while helping institutions recruit talent from across the continent through a single platform.

Since late 2024, Ghana marks Craydel's fifth new African market, highlighting an aggressive regional growth strategy aimed at strengthening its position in Africa's growing education technology sector.
